Perspectives

A perspective is a defined arrangement of views and the editor area. You can arrange the displayed views individually using drag&drop.

X4 Designer

The X4 Designer perspective is the default view.

Web App

The Web App perspective is an optimized view for creating and working with Detail Components and Form Components for Web Apps.

Debug

The Debug perspective is an optimized view for debugging Business Processes and Technical Processes.

BPMN Designer

The BPMN Designer perspective is an optimized view for modeling Business Processes.

Changing perspective

In the X4 Designer, you can switch between perspectives. Switching between perspectives reopens all tabs that were open when the perspective was last closed. The arrangement of the views is retained when changing between perspectives.

Note:

  • When you switch from the X4 Designer or BPMN Designer perspective to the Debug perspective, all tabs open in the current perspective remain open.

  • When you switch from the Web App perspective to the Debug perspective, all open tabs are closed.

  • To change perspective, click the desired perspective icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Resetting perspectives

To reset a perspective, do the following:

  1. Switch to the desired perspective.

  2. Select Window > Reset Window Layout in the menu bar.
