The BPMN Editor allows you to model Business Processes in compliance to the notation standard BPMN 2.0. The editor is similar to the Process Editor within X4 Designer regarding layout and functionality, but differs regarding the process components and symbols in the process diagram. The BPMN Editor allows you to link your modeled Business Processes directly to Technical Processes. This means: You can model and test and run your Business and Technical Processes on the X4 Server without changing the development environment.
Since even non-automatable actions – such as human workflows – can be integrated into Business Processes, Business Processes cannot necessarily be executed on the X4 Server.
In free-flow mode, the BPMN Editor can also be used as a plain BPMN drawing tool with an extended BPMN palette where the Run/Debug function is disabled.
