Import repository elements

Here you will learn how to import projects and various resources from the local file system into the repository.

Import via drag and drop

You can import one or more marked files into the Repository Navigator and thus into the currently connected repository by drag and drop from the file system (e.g. from the desktop or Windows Explorer). If a file with the same name already exists at the destination, you will be prompted to enter a new name.

Note:

  • Folder structures are not supported during import, use the corresponding wizard for this.
  • For larger file transfers (over 1 MB in total), a confirmation dialogue will be displayed as there may be delays in the transfer as well as memory problems.
  • Imported files that contain special/space characters or umlauts in the file name must first be renamed before you can open them in X4 Designer.
  • Projects have a predefined structure so that the inserted files can only be stored in the respective predefined folder, see also The Structure of ESB Projects

Using the Import Wizard for files and projects

Note

  • Projects have a predefined structure so that the files to be imported can only be stored in the respective predefined folder, see also The Structure of ESB Projects
  • Projects can only be imported at the top level and in the predefined project structure, see also The Structure of ESB Projects
  1. Click on Project > Import in the menu.
    The Resource Import Wizard opens.

  2. Select resource.

    • Select the file to be imported (*.zip) or the project to be imported via Browse and enter the corresponding name in New project/file name.

  3. Click Finish.
