Renaming Project Parameters

The Rename/Refactor button allows you to rename project parameters and groups of project parameters. This renaming is applied by referencing (refactoring) in all project files in which the project parameters or groups of project parameters are used.

Note

If only the name of the project parameter is changed in the Name column, no refactoring takes place, i.e. the project parameter is not renamed in the files in the project.

Refactoring can only take place via the Rename/Refactor button.

How to rename project parameters

Note

To rename/refactor a group, follow the same steps.

  1. Open an existing *.param file (Project Parameter Configuration).
  2. Select the project parameter you want to rename/refactor:
  3. Click Rename/Refactor.
The window opens where you can rename the project parameter:
  4. In the window Rename/Refactor, enter a new name for the project parameter.
  5. Click Next.
All project files in which the project parameter is used are displayed:
  6. Click Finish to rename/refactor the project parameter in all places used in the project.
The project parameter has been renamed/refactored in all files in the project.

Moving Project Parameters to Another Project Parameter Group

In the Project Parameter Configuration, you can move one or more project parameters to another group via drag&drop and optionally re-reference them.

A window opens with the query whether a refactoring of the project parameter should take place or not.

How to move project parameters to another group

  1. Open an existing *.param file (Project Parameter Configuration).
  2. Drag and drop the project parameter you want to move to the desired group.
  3. The window Update References opens:
  4. Confirm with Yes to perform a refactoring for the selected project parameter. During refactoring, the selected project parameter is renamed and newly referenced.
The project parameter has been moved to the group and renamed in all files (processes, mappings, conditions, adapters) in the project.
